Canada vs. Team USA (Women’s Hockey)
The Canadians are eager for their rematch against Team USA to prove they belong at the top. However, Canada hasn’t been near the top since it lost 4-3 to Team USA in overtime at the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship.
In the Olympics, Team USA has allowed just one goal in six games, posting many shutouts. They also gave Canada its first-ever shutout in the Olympics. Ultimately, when Team USA gets hot, they score in bunches. That’s how it’s gone this year and how it went against Canada and Sweden, its two biggest games so far.
On the other hand, Canada has failed to look good offensively against the top teams. Funny enough, they’ve tried to rely heavily on veterans. It’s worked to a degree, just not against the United States. In fact, many college women in the USA are getting ample ice time and performing at a high level.
You can expect Canada to slow the pace down. But when it comes down to it, Canada will have to be more aggressive, which will only give the United States more opportunities.
