All roads lead to a matinee Sunday clash between Manchester City and Liverpool. The visiting Reds sit atop the table at 18-7-1 (61 points), while the Citizens currently occupy the fourth spot in the standings at 13-5-7 (44 points). Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. ET from Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
This should be a highly entertaining tilt between two juggernauts in England. With Manchester City exiting the Champions League, their lone focuses are now securing a top-four spot in the Premier League, as well as staying alive in the FA Cup. With Erling Haaland's status (knee) up in the air, I'm hesitant to back Pep Guardiola's side in this one. They'll need all of the offensive talent they can get against this Liverpool defense that's second in both goals against (26) and expected goals against (xGA) - 23.9.
Instead, I think it's worth sprinkling on the draw here at nearly 3-1 odds. Liverpool hasn't been firing on all cylinders offensively, and this is a tough road spot for them. I could see this one finishing in the 1-1 range. Two out of the last three Premier League meetings between Manchester City and Liverpool have finished in a draw, as well as four of the last seven Premier League clashes. Both teams should be satisfied with earning a point in this high-stakes match.
