The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Daytona International Speedway — but not for a Superspeedway race. Instead, NASCAR will run its inaugural race at Daytona’s road course. Sure, it wasn’t on the schedule at the start of the year, but it’s a pandemic! It’s not like the NBA planned to play in a bubble, either.

This race is tough to handicap. We have no course history to use, so I’m going to lean heavily on recent speed and performance at the Charlotte Roval. Harvick has the second-best driver rating at that track, and he led 31 percent of the race there last year before finishing third. That said, the better argument for Harvick is his recent on-track performance. He already has six wins, nine top-threes, and 15 top-fives. He hasn’t finished worse than fifth since June’s Talladega race! There’s no such thing as a safe bet for this unprecedented event, but Harvick is the best option on the board.
