Superman returned and everything seemed like it was turning around for the .500 Panthers in mid-November as quarterback questions had plagued the team. Four weeks and four losses later, and the quarterback situation for the Panthers is just as up in the air as it was before Cam Newton was re-signed.
On the defensive side of the ball, things have been decidedly less uncertain, as the Panthers rank #2 in the league in yards allowed at 294.4 and #2 in passing yards allowed at 178.8.
The defense will need to bring its best on Sunday, despite facing a Buccaneers’ offense that is now spiraling with the loss of Godwin and Fournette combined with the uncertainty of Mike Evans’s hamstring.
