TGL Golf Picks & Predictions: Best Bets for Tuesday (1/21)

Golf’s most recent attempt to draw more eyes to the game, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s indoor team competition called the TGL (TMRW Golf League), has drawn both praise and criticism but there’s no debate that the competition has drawn an audience.

Over one million viewers have tuned in for each of the first two matches. The league’s third match gives us our first look at the Atlanta Drive Golf Club, which consists of Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel and Justin Thomas. Those three will battle the trio of Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young and Rickie Fowler, who represent the New York Golf Club side.

The New York Golf Club was blown out 9-2 in the inaugural match but having a night on the simulator under their belt could give them an advantage. With that in mind, there is some value out there for those interested in wagering on the latest product in the world of professional golf. Here are tonight’s best bets.

Tuesday’s Best TGL Bets

Winning Team

The world’s best struggled to acclimate to the world of simulator golf in the first two matches. Tiger Woods hammered a wedge 40 yards past the green in his first match. Kevin Kisner bladed a sand wedge out of the “real-feel” indoor bunker and could have done some damage to someone or something had the ball not clanked off the flagstick.

Familiarity with the simulator and greens complex indoors is a legitimate concern. New York Golf Club already has a match under their belt, so I expect Rickie Fowler and his teammates to fare much better tonight.

Pick: New York Golf Club (+110)

To Win Hole 1

The opening hole tonight - “Temple” - is a 481-yard par-4 that features an hourglass-shaped fairway into an inverse bowl-shaped green and a downhill approach. Leaning heavily on experience here, and getting some phenomenal value, New York Golf Club could make your night right out of the gate.

Pick: New York Golf Club (+300)

Both Teams to Hit the Green in 1 Shot – Hole 3

Tonight’s third hole - “On The Rocks” is a 178-yard downhill par-3 to a small island green that could be a challenge for all the golfers. By this point, Atlanta Drive Golf Club should have a feel for yardages on the simulator, and both teams should be able to put a ball on the green from the tee.

Pick: Yes (-125)
