Today’s Best MLB Bets

Cleveland Guardians at Houston Astros MLB Picks

The Cleveland Guardians entered Sunday amid their first nine-game losing streak since 2021. Their subsequent 7-2 loss in the series finale to the Tigers was their 10th straight loss, and they have been shut out five times during that span. Cleveland is now an MLB-worst 7-21 since June 5, and it has lost 21-of-28 for the first time since 2012.

Houston’s moneyline odds are just steep enough to have me passing on that number, but I instead believe there is value in the Under given Cleveland’s offensive struggles.

Astros lefty Colton Gordon allowed a .374 xwOBA and .235 ISO to his first 159 right-handed batters. Prior to his last outing, he had improved those numbers to .367 and .193 respectively over his next 88 righties faced, which suggests he was getting more comfortable in the big leagues.

The Under is 9-1 in Cleveland’s last 10 road games, and it should again be the right side of the total tonight.

Pick: Under 7.5 Runs (-120)

Today’s Best WNBA Bets

Golden State Valkyries at Atlanta Dream WNBA Picks

After the Valkyries fought hard against the Minnesota Lynx, they are back in action as they travel to Atlanta to face the Dream. Atlanta sits as a near 7.0-point favorite, with the total set at 156.5 points.

Both teams have been impressive this year, jockeying for playoff position with their winning records. Allisha Gray has had a resurgent season, averaging a career-high 19 points a game, leading the Dream to the season they've had. Brittney Griner hasn't been as effective as they'd hoped but they are still 11-7 with the fourth-best offense in the league.

Golden State has done great work as an expansion team, in part due to its exceptional defense. Before Saturday, the Valkyries had won four of five and seven of their previous nine. The loss to the Lynx may have been a setback but they still fought against the best team in the W, and that's not nothing. Golden State will snag boards and force off shots but Atlanta's offense should be up for the challenge.

What stands out to me is the bump Atlanta gets at home. Their offense is still solid, but it's their defense that stands out with the biggest jump. On the flip side, Golden State takes a step back from the metrics, and are coming off short rest after more travel than Atlanta. The Dream are 10-5 in their last 15 games with only one loss by a significant amount. This is the first time these two teams have collided, but I simply think the Dream matchup is better for how good this Valkyries’ defense is. Beating Golden State from deep is how to go, and Rhyne Howard, Gray, and Nia Coffey all can get hot from deep. Golden State takes the most threes a game but Atlanta limits opponents’ threes at the second-highest clip. This, to me, feels like an Atlanta rout if you care to take some risks.

Pick: Dream -6.0 (-114)

Today’s Best NBA Summer League Bets

Oklahoma City Thunder at Philadelphia 76ers NBA Summer League Picks

The Oklahoma City Thunder lost its first game of the NBA Summer League to the Memphis Grizzlies. Oklahoma City finished with 80 points, thanks to Ajay Mitchell’s 24 points. Mitchell and Nikola Topic were the two main contributors. The rest of the Thunder roster didn’t play all that well. Brooks Barnhizer secured 13 rebounds and nine points, but again, the depth is simply lacking on this Thunder squad.

Additionally, Oklahoma City turned the ball over 25 times and shot just 64.7% from the foul line against Memphis.

They’ll battle a Philadelphia 76ers team that has to be excited about VJ Edgecombe. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite these numbers, the 76ers still lost to the Utah Jazz. Still, the 76ers have an exciting starting lineup between Edgecombe, Adem Bona, Justin Edwards, Johni Broome and Jalen Hood-Schifino. Judah Mintz even contributed 11 points in 22 minutes.

There is a lot more potential with this 76ers group. Back Philadelphia -2.

Best Bet: 76ers -2 (-110)
