Top 3 MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Friday (3/29)
While most teams opened their season yesterday, a handful of teams had to wait until today for their Opening Day due to rain. Those games postponed included the Mets-Brewers and Braves-Phillies matchups. While those teams will be playing their first game today, there are 10 total games on the MLB slate tonight.
That gives us a lot to work with. Here are three MLB player props to consider for Friday, March 29.

Spencer Strider Over 8.5 Ks (-115)
Spencer Strider struck out 36.4% of batters last season. He also held teams to 7.5% of walks and allowed a wOBA of .289. He’s a Cy Young candidate this year and will likely continue his high strikeout rate throughout the season.
While the Phillies typically hit right-handed pitching well, five batters have struck out at least 25% of the time against righties. Meanwhile, using last season’s stats with this year’s projected lineup, the Phillies only walked 8.5% of the time against righties.
Strider might give up a home run here and there, but his outs will consist mainly of strikeouts. Let’s ride Strider to earn at least nine strikeouts tonight.
Brandon Lowe Over 1.5 Total Bases (+160)
The Rays will face Toronto’s right-handed pitcher, Chris Bassitt. He is a veteran pitcher with plenty of success in the league. However, last season, he gave up a .240 ISO and wOBA of .363 against 401 lefties. Bassitt also earned just 33.6% of ground balls and allowed 33.6% of fly balls to lefties last year.
The Rays have some powerful lefties in their lineup. Nobody is more powerful than Brandon Lowe against righties. Lowe hit a .238 ISO and wOBA of .353 against 374 righties last year. He’s been inconsistent throughout the previous three years. He’s had high power numbers and some weak numbers at times. Still, last year was another solid season, and he should at least be a 20-homerun threat.
At +160 against Bassitt, I’ll gladly take Brandon Lowe to get at least two total bases. All we need is one extra-base hit!
Chas McCormick Over 1.5 Total Bases (+145)
I’m not going to trust Carlos Rodon out of the gate. The Yankees’ left-handed pitcher allowed a .237 ISO and wOBA of .363 to 286 batters last season. He also allowed a .236 ISO and wOBA of .369 to 236 righties and gave up nearly 40% of fly balls and 24.8% of line drives to righties last year.
The entire Astros lineup looks good against lefties, but Chas McCormick sticks out. Last year, he hit a .290 ISO and wOBA of .441 against 148 lefties. He’ll likely bat sixth in the lineup and be up in pressure situations and with players on base.
Take a chance on McCormick against Rodon tonight. I’ll fade Rodon until he proves he’s himself again.
