Top College Basketball Picks for Friday, March 4 (2022)

There are plenty of exciting conference tournament matchups, along with other conferences wrapping up their regular seasons. The action will still be extremely exciting, with many quarterfinals and semifinals games slated for tonight.

Here are my top three bets for March 4 in college basketball.

Bet $10 on a College Basketball Game, Win $200 if Either Team Hits a Three-Pointer >>

Bradley vs. Loyola Chicago: Loyola Chicago -5.5 (-115)

(3:30 p.m. ET)

It’s time for Loyola Chicago to show its dominance. As a 6-point favorite, the Ramblers are getting a little bit disrespected. Loyola Chicago is projected to win the entire MVC, but of course, lost to Bradley earlier this year and is coming off an overtime loss to Northern Iowa to finish out the season.

Loyola Chicago is currently shooting an effective field goal percentage of 57.1 percent and knocking down 38.5 percent of threes and 56.5 percent of twos. Loyola Chicago is above average in every key category but block percentage on the defensive end. The loss to UNI will only make this team hungrier. The Ramblers should force a solid amount of turnovers and keep Bradley off the offensive glass. That’ll be enough to cover.

Bet: Loyola Chicago -5.5 -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Richmond vs. St. Bonaventure: Richmond +4 (-105)

(7:00 p.m. ET)

The Richmond Spiders already defeated St. Bonaventure by 10 points at home earlier this season. In that game, the Bonnies shot 51.6 percent from inside and 40.9 percent from outside and still ended up losing because they couldn’t get to the foul line at all. St. Bonaventure took just five foul shot attempts throughout the entire game.

But that wasn’t a mistake. Richmond and St. Bonaventure don’t foul very often, and the reality is Richmond and St. Bonaventure both limit turnovers very well. However, from the field, Richmond has an effective field goal percentage of 52 percent, while St. Bonaventure has an effective field goal percentage of 50.1 percent.

I’ll take the better shooting team with the points.

Bet: Richmond +4 (-105) at DraftKings Sportsbook

Campbell vs. Gardner Webb: Gardner Webb -125

(8:00 p.m. ET)

Campbell is coming off a double-overtime game against Presbyterian and has to play against one of the better defenses in the Big South in Gardner Webb.

Gardner Webb holds opponents to a 45.6 percent effective field goal percentage and limits teams to 28.5 percent from three and 47.6 percent from inside. Gardner Webb is also effective on the defensive glass and forces more turnovers on the defensive end.

On offense, Gardner Webb is average, shooting 32.7 percent from three and 51 percent from inside. But Campbell allows opponents to shoot over 35 percent from three and 49.5 percent from inside the arc. Defense creates offense, and then the offense will be good enough to win this game outright.

Bet: Gardner Webb -125 at WynnBet
