Top College Basketball Picks for Sunday, January 30th (2022)

Before the attention of the sports betting world turns to the NFL Conference Championship games this evening, college basketball offers some great action throughout the day. With March now just over a month away, teams are jockeying for positioning within their conference and on the at-large bubbles.

Let’s take a look at a few teams in the mix and where their value lies today.

Minnesota vs. Wisconsin: Wisconsin -11.5 (-110)

(1:00 p.m. ET tip)

Two Big Ten foes will square off today in Madison, as #11 Wisconsin looks to defend its impeccable home record against a familiar opponent. Having won nine of 10 at home vs. the Gophers, their only loss in this spot in the past decade came in January 2019.

Things should likely play out the same in this one, as the Gophers have lost five of their last six, keeping just one within 11 points. Look for the size of Wisconsin behind the 7′ frontcourt of Chris Vogt and Steven Crowl to be too much for this Gophers team as they get rolled in this one.

Pittsburgh vs. Boston College: Pittsburgh +4 (-110)

(4:00 p.m. ET tip)

Two of the worst offensive teams in the country will go at it today in Pittsburgh, as these two come in averaging a combined 127.3 points per game. For the home Panthers, a 48-point performance last week at Clemson was their worst of the season, and despite winning vs. Syracuse since, they’ve gone under in four of their last five.

For the visiting Golden Eagles, points have also been a major problem. In their last two performances, both losses, they’ve averaged just 52 points per game and have been among the coldest teams in all of college basketball from the field.

While neither of these teams will make much noise in the ACC tournament, I do like for this one to be competitive and will take the points with the visiting Panthers.
