Top College Basketball Picks for Sunday, March 6th (2022)
One week remains between now and selection Sunday, as conference tournaments have already begun across the country. In what will be the final full Sunday of the regular season, the Big Ten headlines all the action.
Let’s take a closer look at today’s board and two games I’ve keyed in on.

Maryland vs. Michigan State: Michigan State -6 (-110)

The Terrapins will look to play the role of spoiler today in East Lansing, as the Spartans enter the final week of the season firmly on the bubble of the Big Dance. If their last two games are any indication, the Spartans could be in trouble, losing to both Michigan and Ohio State by a combined 28 points.
For the Terrapins, a poor start to the season will likely leave them on the outside looking in come Selection Sunday, but their recent form is certainly a cause for concern for their opponents in next week’s Big Ten tournament. Over their last five, Maryland has won four, covering all four ATS. I like for them to keep this one close and be in contention for an outright win late.

Coming into today 12-3 at home this season, the Illini are amongst the best home teams in the country this season, which I believe is already well-accounted for in this line. They’ll face one of their toughest tests of the season tonight, though, as the #24 Hawkeyes come to town looking to pick up their sixth straight and ninth in their last 10 games.
Scoring a staggering 83.6 points per game, the Hawkeyes enter today as the 5th best offensive team in the country. For the Illini, 76.3 points per game have been a respectable number in their own right, which they’ll need all of and more tonight. Just 1-2 ATS over their last three, including scoring just 60 in their previous game (vs. Penn State), I expect the Illini to struggle to keep up with the pace of the Hawkeyes tonight and be unable to pull away from them as the game goes on.
