Top College Basketball Picks for Thursday, March 10 (2022)

Last night was another night of profit. Saint Joseph’s let us down after a little comeback in the second half, but the other two bets were winners and therefore gave us some profit during championship week! Today, all Power-Five conferences have tournaments going on. This is what we live for! It’s March! Here are my top three bets for today’s slate.

Remember, there are games on throughout the entire day!

Florida vs. Texas A&M: Texas A&M +2.5

(12:00 p.m. ET)

Texas A&M already defeated Florida once this season, at home, 56-55. It was a huge defensive game between two teams that are middle tier in the SEC. Texas A&M was up 21-8 at one point in the first half and basically led throughout the game. Florida came storming back late and even took the lead late in the game. However, the Gators still fell short.

Both defenses have struggled with rebounding, and neither team is all that consistent from three-point land. However, Texas A&M should be able to earn more offensive rebounds and has earned nearly 25 percent of turnovers per game this season. The defense has been slightly better, and the offense will more than likely have more attempts.

I’ll take the underdog and the points.

Bet: Texas A&M +2.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Buffalo vs Akron: Akron +2.5 (-110)

(1:00 p.m. ET)

The Akron Zips already have a win against Buffalo this season. To finish out the regular season, Buffalo lost two straight games. Although previously, Buffalo won nine straight games. However, those nine games were against the bottom tier of the MAC, and not a single game was all that impressive throughout the win streak going up against the bad teams in the conference.

Akron’s a top-tier team in the league and will prove it today. The Zips get to the line at a very high rate and should keep Buffalo off the line for most of the game. The Zips have a high effective field goal percentage, and while the Zips don’t crash the offensive glass as well as Buffalo does, Akron is much better on the defensive glass.

If Akron can live at the line and shoot a higher percentage, the Zips will come away with the win outright. I’ll play it safe.

Bet: Akron +2.5 (-110) at DraftKings Sportsbook

Louisiana Tech vs. Western Kentucky: Western Kentucky +105

(7:00 p.m. ET)

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers lost to Louisiana Tech by one point back on January 1. Things have changed since then, with Western Kentucky winning nine of its last 10 games in conference play.

Western Kentucky limits foul shooting at a high rate and earns over 19 percent turnovers per game. Rebounding isn’t all that essential for Western Kentucky, but the Hilltoppers shoot at a very high rate, hitting 36.7 percent from deep and 52.2 percent from inside the arc.

Plus, even though Western Kentucky struggles on the defensive glass, Louisiana Tech isn’t all that better on the offensive glass, earning just 25.2 percent offensive rebounds. Take Western Kentucky as the short dog.

Bet: Western Kentucky +105 at DraftKings
