Top College Basketball Picks for Tuesday, January 11 (2022)

With the college football season finished, I’m going to assume there will be plenty of bettors trying to get into betting college basketball. It’s an extremely fun sport to bet. Basketball is all about a game of runs. So if a team gets down by 10 quickly, don’t panic! Your team will likely go on the next run!

Here are my favorite three bets for tonight’s slate on January 11.

Iona vs. Fairfield: Fairfield +7

(2:00 PM ET tip)

During a four-game losing streak, Fairfield lost to Siena by eight, Marist by nine, Wagner by 13, and UMass by four. So while Fairfield is losing, the Stags are sticking around in most games this season.

In reality, every Fairfield loss this season has been within reason. The Stags lost to Providence by seven, Boston College by eight, and Loyola Maryland by five. Those are all seven of Fairfield’s losses.

They’ve lost just one game by double digits all season and have played a pretty hard schedule to date. Fairfield has held opponents to 31.8 percent from three and 48.2 percent from inside and has a solid defense that has allowed them to stick around in all games. Take Fairfield with the points.

Hofstra vs. Towson: Towson -2

(5:00 PM ET tip)

Tonight’s card has a great lineup. We can watch games all day and sweat it out. There’s nothing better than that on a Tuesday. Let’s be real!

This season, Hofstra is rarely getting to the line and has struggled to win the rebounding battle in most games. The offense is good enough, but the defense isn’t.

Hofstra is allowing 38.9 percent from long range this season and 52.3 percent from inside the arc on the year. Towson will shoot a solid amount of three-pointers and get a bunch of quality looks in this game to help push them to victory at home.

Toledo vs. Miami OH: Toledo +100

(7:00 PM ET tip)

Both Toledo and Miami OH have similar offenses. Both can shoot well from beyond the arc, and both can score nearly 50 percent inside per game. On top of that, both teams are very consistent at the foul line, and both teams rarely turn the ball over.

However, only Toledo earns offensive rebounds at a high rate. Toledo also gets to the line at a much higher rate as well. So Toledo should have the advantage on the glass and should get more points from the foul line.

Neither team is very deep in their benches, but Miami OH will play much more conservatively when a player has two fouls compared to Toledo. Miami OH lacks height and length, which will come back to bite them in this game.
