Unfortunately, one of our best bets was postponed due to rain. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that that same game is being played today, and we’re sticking with it. That’s the only good news from yesterday’s slate, after losing the two other games we bet.
It’s time to get back on track.

Colorado Rockies vs. Washington Nationals
In my opinion, this is the closest game to a huge mismatch tonight. The Rockies will pitch Austin Gomber, who will go against Aaron Sanchez of the Nationals in the first game of a doubleheader.
The Nationals have just 15 wins this season and aren’t going to get any better soon. Gomber, a lefty, will take on a Washington projected lineup with an ISO of .087 and wOBA of .295 in the last 30 days. The Nationals rarely hit fly balls against lefties and continue to hit ground balls at a high rate.
Gomber is inducing 51.1% of ground balls in the last 30 days, favoring the lefty. Meanwhile, Aaron Sanchez has a 5.45 xFIP with 11.5% of strikeouts in the previous 30 days. The right-hander is getting rocked by righties, allowing a wOBA of .507 and ISO of .314. The Rockies should have six righties in the lineup to do some damage against Sanchez.
Take the Rockies in the first game of the doubleheader. The line hasn’t moved.

New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays
Gerrit Cole has been hot and cold this year. I get it, and some bettors just don’t want to trust Cole anymore. But analytically, Cole has been sensational. He’ll take the mound against the Rays with a 2.89 xFIP in the last 30 days.
Cole has also struck out over 30% of batters faced and has walked under 3% in that same time frame. He’s also recently kept power down and wOBA numbers against both sides of the plate. His time is coming. Tonight, he’s taking on a Rays team that has struggled to score runs recently. Last night, the Rays scored 0 runs, and today, that could happen again.
The Yankees, on the other hand, will take on a former Bronx pitcher, Corey Kluber. Kluber has an xFIP above 4 in the last 30 days, and he’s also giving up a wOBA of .348 to lefties and a .191 ISO to righties. He’s hittable and beatable.
Let’s roll with the Yankees at -140 with Cole on the mound.

Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox
I’ve enjoyed Johnny Cueto’s return to the diamond. Cueto has a 3.88 xFIP with 26.1% of strikeouts with the White Sox to start the season.
He’s slated to take the mound tonight against the Cubs, who strike out 27.2% of the time using their projected lineup against righties in the last 30 days.
Cueto is getting a high amount of grounders and limiting line drives so far, and while it’s a small sample size, he’s looked absolutely locked in.
Meanwhile, Keegan Thompson will get the call for the Cubs with his near 5 xFIP in the last 30 days. He’s allowing a .345 wOBA and ISO of .267 from righties over the previous 34 plate appearances, and the White Sox should have a solid amount of righties in the lineup.
