Top MLB Betting Odds & Picks for Sunday, May 29 (2022)
Saturday wasn’t a great day, as we went 1-2 with our picks. It’s time to get back on track today!
I’ve added three of my favorite plays for today’s slate in the MLB for May 29. Let’s get back to our winning ways.
Are you going to tail?
(Odds courtesy DraftKings)
Miami Marlins vs. Atlanta Braves
It’ll be Max Fried on the mound for the Braves. The left-hander has a 3.60 xFIP in the last 30 days with 24% of strikeouts and 5.4% of walks.
Fried has allowed a high amount of line drives, but ultimately, he’ll face a Marlins lineup that has hit just 17.7% of line drives against lefties in the last 30 days.
I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
Meanwhile, the Marlins will pitch Elieser Hernandez. The righty has an xFIP of 5.92 in the last 30 days and has induced just 32% of ground balls while walking 8.4%.
Lefties are smacking Hernandez around, with a .365 wOBA and ISO of .300. Look for Matt Olson and Ozzie Albies to have big days along with the rest of the lineup.
Give me the Braves -1.5, at home, with Max Fried on the mound.
Bet: Braves -1.5 (-105 at DraftKings)
Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Sometimes it just seems like the Brewers don’t get enough love. Corbin Burnes is on the mound, and the Brewers are just -140 on the moneyline.
I’m going to grab it.
Burnes has had a 3.56 xFIP in the last 30 days with 27.2% of strikeouts and 3.2% of walks. He’s also inducing nearly 50% of ground balls and limiting line drives at a high rate too. That’s ace material.
On the other hand, Miles Mikolas will take the hill with his 4.33 xFIP in the last 30 days. He’s also striking out just 17.7% of batters in the last 30 days. Mikolas has been average this season at best and will take on a Brewers lineup that has a .198 ISO and wOBA of .350 against righties in the last 3o days.
I’ll back Corbin Burnes and the higher projected offense in today’s game.
Bet: Brewers (-140 at DraftKings)
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks will send out Zach Davies for today’s start. Davies has a 4.99 xFIP in the last 30 days with 16.8% of strikeouts. Today, he’ll go up against a Dodgers lineup that has an ISO of .229 and wOBA of .360 against righties in the last 30 days.
He’s going to run into some trouble against this powerful Dodgers lineup.
On the other hand, Tyler Anderson will give it a go for the Dodgers. The lefty has a 4.65 xFIP and is allowing a wOBA of .404 to lefties and a .240 ISO to righties.
The Diamondbacks lineup combined has a .320 wOBA and ISO of .186. That’s good enough to score some runs against Anderson. Therefore, I’ll ride the Over 9.5.
Bet: Over 9.5 (-105 at DraftKings)
