Top MLB Parlay Odds & Picks for Thursday, May 12 (2022)
The dogs were apparently barking yesterday. The Brewers scored 11 runs and didnât defeat the Reds. Meanwhile, the Mariners allowed one massive hit that ruined everything, a grand slam by Rhys Hoskins.
So that gives us one more chance this week to hit a parlay. With a limited selection of games, it was easy to narrow down which games Iâd be choosing.

Oakland Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers
The Tigers and Athletics have been awful offensively. But Iâm going to back the Athletics, knowing theyâll have James Kaprielian on the mound going up against Beau Brieske.
Kaprielianâs earning nearly 26% strikeouts on the season, and Brieske simply allows more balls in play. Throughout the order, the Tigers and their lineup consist of complete garbage against righties. Only Austin Meadows and maybe Robbie Grossman is a threat to Kaprielian. But both of those batters have struggled so far this season.
Kaprielian showed signs of potential last season and at this point, I just trust him to shut things down more than Brieske, who has an xFIP above 6.00.
Bet: Athletics (+100 at DraftKings)
Kansas City Royals vs. Texas Rangers
This is an exciting rubber match between two teams that wonât be in the playoffs when itâs all said and done. But with Jon Heasley on the mound for the Royals, Iâll fade Kansas City and take the Rangers.
The middle of the Rangers lineup is starting to catch fire with high ISO numbers and legitimate power. Heasley only struck out 10% of batters last season and will make his season debut this year. If heâs not going to earn strikeouts, he will allow plenty of hard hit-line drives against the Rangers. In the Rangersâ projected order, seven of the nine batters are hitting 20% line drives or more in the last 30 days.
Iâll take my chances with the Rangers at home. This offense could explode today.
Bet: Rangers (-130 at DraftKings)
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
After a pathetic series against the Pirates, are the Dodgers really that big of a threat anymore? I see Zack Wheeler as an underdog going up against Tyler Anderson of the Dodgers.
I know Wheeler is coming off a bout with COVID, but he made a quick return, so Iâm sure things werenât so bad for him. Meanwhile, Anderson has an XFIP nearing 5.
The Phillies havenât dominated lefties this season, but the lineup is more than capable of putting together some big hits against Anderson in this game.
Iâm going to back Wheeler and the Phillies with plus money in my parlay.
Bet: Phillies (+125 at DraftKings)
