Top MLB Parlay Odds & Picks for Tuesday, May 17 (2022)

If you recall, we hit our last parlay that was given out on Thursday. Can we continue the parlay momentum tonight with another parlay winner?

Here are my top three selections for an MLB parlay for May 17.

(Odds courtesy FanDuel)

Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals (Game 1)

The Chicago White Sox ended up defeating the Kansas City Royals in extras on Monday. It probably should’ve never got to that point, with the White Sox up 3-0 in the 8th inning.

Either way, the White Sox got a clutch two-run homer from Luis Robert in the 10th inning and ended up winning the game.

Today, the White Sox will have Dylan Cease on the mound going up against Jon Heasley of the Royals. Cease has a 3.44 xFIP with 36.2% strikeouts in the last 30 days. Meanwhile, the Royals lineup has a .115 ISO and a wOBA of just .281 against righties in that same time frame.

On the other hand, Jon Heasley has a 7.99 xFIP in the last 30 days with way more walks than strikeouts. So I’ll run with the White Sox here at -190.

Bet: White Sox (-196 at FanDuel)

Detroit Tigers vs. Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays were embarrassed last night, losing to the Tigers 3-2 after allowing a ninth-inning homer that became the game-winner. With Shane McClanahan on the mound going up against Beau Brieske, the Rays are in a great position to win tonight’s game.

McClanahan has a 1.79 xFIP in the last 30 days with 37.7% strikeouts and 4.4% of walks. Those numbers are sensational. Meanwhile, Brieske has a 6.92 xFIP with 12.6% of strikeouts and 11.5% of walks. Brieske has just been a bit lucky with a BABIP of .164.

His luck is about to run out.

Bet: Rays (-295 at FanDuel)

Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox

Because we added two heavy favorites, I had to add a smaller favorite. I love the Red Sox, at home, going up against the Astros with Nathan Eovaldi on the mound.

Eovaldi has a 3.82 xFIP with 24.2% strikeouts and 4.2% walks in the last 30 days. He’s limited line drives, earned over 45% of ground balls and just overall looks great.

On the other hand, Jose Urquidy will pitch for the Astros with a 5.24 xFIP in that same time frame. He also has just 16.5% of strikeouts and is getting only 33.3% of ground balls. Fall balls at Fenway leave the yard quickly. Batters like Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez could have a solid day against Urquidy.

Devers has a .238 ISO with a .362 wOBA against righties while Martinez has a .246 ISO with a .393 wOBA against righties. Xander Bogaerts has lacked consistent power but also has a .397 wOBA. Plus, the Red Sox are striking out just 20.3% of the time against righties in the last 3o days. Urquidy isn’t earning a high amount of strikeouts, to begin with, giving the Red Sox a whole lot of potential to do big things tonight with Eovaldi on the mound.

Bet: Red Sox (-126 at FanDuel)

Parlay: (+262 at FanDuel)
