Top NBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/2)

There are plenty of great spots for tonight’s NBA slate. I’ve already added two of my favorite bets to my betting portfolio.

I’ll share those two best bets below!

Tuesday’s Best NBA Bets

Odds courtesy of ESPN BET | All wagers are for 1 unit

New York Knicks @ Miami Heat

The New York Knicks have lost their identity. They have allowed at least 101 points in three consecutive games and at least 116.7 points per 100 possessions in those three games. Their opponents are also getting easy looks from the field.

The Thunder just took down the Knicks with an effective field goal percentage of 61.6%. Meanwhile, the Spurs added a 63.4% effective field goal percentage in the game before that. The Knicks have even been inconsistent on the defensive glass, allowing at least 27.3% of offensive rebounds in two of their last three games.

Offensively, the Knicks are still strong on the offensive glass. They’re also limiting turnovers and scoring at a solid rate each game.

They’ll take on a Miami Heat squad that has dominated defensively but has lacked consistent offense. The Heat have won three of their last four games. They held teams to no more than 84 points in two of those wins.

Like the Knicks, the Heat are very good at keeping turnovers down. But they’re not good on the offensive glass.

Typically, New York is much better defensively. The reason they’ve struggled is their defensive performance. Against the Heat, the Knicks should be able to adjust and perform well on that side of the ball. Therefore, I’ll take the Under 207.5 (-105).

Bet: Under 207.5 (-105)

Houston Rockets @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Throughout March, the Rockets are dominant on both ends of the ball. Houston is back over .500 but still has work to do to make the NBA Play-In Tournament. Every game from here matters.

That said, over the last four games, the Rockets have shown some fatigue despite going 3-1 in those games. The offense hasn’t scored more than 118.9 points per 100 possessions in any of those four games. The Rockets had scored at least 121.1 points per 100 possessions in the previous five before those four.

However, the defense has still been really good. The Rockets had a slight hiccup against Dallas, but the Mavericks were also just as hot coming into the game.

Houston will look to get back on track against a Minnesota team that has also been subpar offensively. The Timberwolves only scored 101 points against the Chicago Bulls last time out after adding just 20% of offensive rebounds and giving up more than 15% of turnovers.

But ultimately, you can always count on the Minnesota defense. Before that loss to Chicago, the Timberwolves won four consecutive games. In those four games, three opponents were held to below 100 points.

I’m going to roll with the Under in this one as well.

Bet: Under 215.5 (-105)
