Top NFL Teaser Picks for Week 17 (2022)

Last week was our first lost teaser in three weeks. Hopefully, we can get the next two and really profit off second-half teasers. Every team let us down last week. So clearly, I wasn’t reading the board well last week. But I’m feeling good about this week!

Every week, we’ll share our favorite picks for a 6-point basic teaser in the NFL in this article. It’s also smart to play numbers that make sense. You need to cross key numbers to gain value. Those numbers would be 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 17.

Again, here’s a teaser betting guide from Jason Katz via BettingPros if you aren’t familiar with Teasers.

Leg #1 Raiders +13

It’s looking like Carson Wentz could return to action and test negative in time for play for Sunday. But even if Wentz does get to play and start in this game, he’s coming off no practice and COVID after being unvaccinated. He likely has had symptoms and probably isn’t feeling his best.

Therefore, I like the Raiders in a big AFC matchup that has playoff implications. The Raiders could be getting back Darren Waller for this game and that would certainly ignore the Raiders offense that as won their last two games by scoring just 17 and 16 points in respective games.

If Wentz doesn’t start, it’ll be Sam Ehlinger under center. He was a stud for the Texas Longhorns last season but having him start in a big AFC matchup for the playoffs would be asking a little too much. So many rookie quarterbacks have struggled in these situations, like Ian Book last week.

So give me the Raiders and all those 13 points on the road.

Leg #2. Cincinnati Bengals +10.5

The Bengals, at home, could win this game outright. It’s the first meeting between Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes and it should be an offensive shootout. The team with the ball last will likely win this game.

I’m pretty confident that this game will finish as one-score game. The Bengals are getting 10.5 points in this teaser, so even if the Bengals lose by a touchdown and a field goal, they’d still cover the 10.5 number and help the teaser cash.

Burrow is coming off a day where he threw for 525 yards passing against the Baltimore Ravens. This Bengals offense is going to be like the Chiefs in a couple of years. So let’s respect that and take the Bengals to cover with either a win or a loss in single digits.

Leg #3. Buccaneers -7

Do you think the Jets really stand a chance? The Jets are going up against Tom Brady and he’s owned this team in MetLife Stadium throughout his career with his team in New England.

Brady and the Buccaneers are without a lot of weapons. That’s the one thing going for the Jets. However, the Jets almost gave away a win against the Jaguars by not producing around the red zone. The Jaguars simply had a chance to come back and beat the Jets, on the road, because of the Jets’ lack of execution on the offensive end.

I really want Zach Wilson to succeed and think he’s got great potential. But asking him to hang with Tom Brady possession-by-possession is just silly. Take the Buccaneers -7 and watch them win by double digits.
