The UFC APEX facility in the company’s home in Las Vegas, NV will play host to the second event in two weeks this weekend when UFC 250 gets underway. With the prelims scheduled to start at 6:30 PM EST, the undercard will be streamed in its entirety on ESPN+ with the main card on ESPN pay-per-view.
With limits on the fighters that can participate in fights confined to those already in the United State due to the coronavirus pandemic, the UFC has done a great job putting together cards comprised of some of the most exciting up and comers in the sport.
While the co-main event of the evening features two bantamweights looking to get back on track in Cody Garbrandt and Raphael Assuncao, the main event of the evening features a women’s title fight that should not disappoint.

Amanda Nunes (19-4-0) vs. Felicia Spencer (8-1-0)
When it comes to women fighting in mixed martial arts, potentially ever, Amanda Nunes is at the top of the food chain. Currently ranked the #1 pound-for-pound female fighter in the world, Nunes comes into this fight as the UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion as well as the Featherweight champion. Not only does she have the most female wins (12) in UFC history and the most title fights (7), but she was the first woman in UFC history to win two titles and hold them simultaneously.
The last time we saw her inside the octagon was one of her toughest bouts to date, a five-round decision victory over Germaine de Randamie at UFC 245 in December. Prior to that, four of her previous six fights ended in the first round with three of them coming by KO/TKO.
While Nunes does have losses in the sport, you have to go all the way back to 2014 for her last, a third-round TKO at the hands of Cat Zingano and her only loss in the UFC.
Facing the legend Nunes Saturday night is a relative newcomer to the company in Felicia Spencer. In her three fights since coming to the UFC, her only loss came to Cris Cyborg last summer at UFC 240, a unanimous decision defeat. Known to have a flair for the dramatic, likely why she got this title shot as a relative unknown, Spencer’s prior victories in the UFC came within the first two minutes of her fights.
While I typically look for Nunes fights to go the distance in this latter stage of her career, something about this one screams knockout. I expect Spencer, the much less experienced fighter, to come into this one looking to make a statement, which might just get her caught early with the powerful fist of Nunes.
