Washington got a bad break, and even with their game getting delayed, they still had a lot of players, including starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke and backup Kyle Allen, not able to play due to COVID. They actually were competitive against the Eagles in Tuesday’s matchup and had all the opportunities to win that game even with a third-string quarterback. The loss doesn’t eliminate them from the playoff picture, but the chances have become slim.
The Cowboys can lock up the NFC East with a win this week, a division that once again will not see repeat division winners since 2004. Dallas has been up and down this season, as sometimes the offense looks lost, but others are a force. The team still has plenty to play for as they are tied for the second seed with Tampa Bay and Arizona, and they would certainly love to have a home-field advantage up until the NFC championship.
