The Connecticut Sun will open up their season with a home game against the 1-0 Washington Mystics. That game will be followed by an intriguing matchup between the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks. Washington Mystics vs. Connecticut Sun
- Leg 1: Brittney Sykes Under 17.5 Points (-104)
- Leg 2: Tina Charles Under 16.5 Points (-130)
- Leg 3: Marina Mabrey Over 3.5 Rebounds (-104)
Brittney Sykes added 22 points in Washington’s win over the Atlanta Dream to begin the season. However, she shot just 6-for-20 from the field and also had five personal fouls in 37 minutes. Ultimately, she managed to earn nine points from the foul line after shooting 30% from the floor and just 16.7% from downtown. I don’t expect Sykes to consistently put up 20+ points shooting like that. After all, she nailed this line in just 24% of games last season.
Meanwhile, Tina Charles scored at least 17 points in just 34% of games last year with the Atlanta Dream. She’s on her sixth team in six seasons. Ultimately, she hasn’t produced enough for other teams to want her. In addition, she’s 36 years old and shot below 46% from the field last season as a center. Her best days are behind her.
Finally, Marina Mabrey recorded at least four rebounds in 53% of games last season. She’s also averaged 3.7 rebounds per game in her last ten games against the Washington Mystics. The last time she faced the Mystics, Mabrey recorded six rebounds in nearly 30 minutes of game action.
Parlay Odds: +453
Minnesota Lynx vs. Los Angeles Sparks
- Leg 1: Kelsey Plum Over 21.5 Points (-102)
- Leg 2: Napheesa Collier Over 23.5 Points (-114)
- Leg 3: Bridget Carleton Over 3.5 Rebounds (-162)
Kelsey Plum added 37 points in her regular-season debut with the Los Angeles Sparks. She played 40 minutes and shot nearly 58% from the field, while hitting 4-for-6 from downtown. Plum made an impact with her passing and steals. She also turned the ball over twice and took 19 shots. She’s now the No. 1 scoring option for a team. This wasn’t the case with the Aces.
On the other hand, Napheesa Collier is ready to take the next step in the WNBA. She finished with 34 points against the Dallas Wings after only playing 32 minutes. Collier also shot above 57% from the field and nailed 2-for-3 from downtown, while adding eight foul shots. Collier has added at least 24 points in five of her last six games against the Sparks. In her most recent game against the Sparks, she dropped 30 points on June 14, 2024.
Lastly, while Bridget Carleton wasn’t much help offensively in the first game of the season, she still hauled in seven rebounds. She’s added at least four rebounds in six consecutive games dating back to last year’s playoff run and in 61% of games last year.
Parlay Odds: +440
