Our fourth and final Major of the 2022 season is upon us as The Open Championship will get underway on Thursday, July 14. This year, The Open Championship returns to the Old Course at St Andrews for the first time since 2015.

Below, I will give out my two best prop bets for the 2022 Open Championship.

Keegan Bradley Top 40 Finish (+135)

There are multiple factors to help narrow down our best bets for this tournament. Among the most important include iron play, major championship experience, and recent form.

At the Old Course, iron play is by far the most crucial element for success as the historic links course favors those who can put themselves on the greens in regulation and avoid hazards. The best iron players will have a significant advantage over the rest of the field as the wind is expected to be howling this week at St Andrews, which will be further amplified at this links course.

Enter Keegan Bradley. Perhaps one of the most underrated iron players on TOUR, Bradley is one of my longshot bets to win the whole tournament.

This season, Bradley ranks 18th on TOUR in SG Tee to Green and 19th in SG Approach the Green. Bradley is not a “one-trick pony” either, as he ranks 27th in SG Off the Tee and 15th in Total Strokes Gained.

Additionally, Bradley’s major championship experience and success proves that he continues to be undervalued by oddsmakers. Over his last four Major appearances, Bradley has made the cut three times, with two of those resulting in top-20 finishes.

This season, Bradley has made the cut in both of his Major Championship appearances as he finished T48 at the PGA Championship and T7 at the U.S. Open. In terms of The Open Championship specifically, Bradley has made the cut in five of his eight career appearances, with three of those five made-cuts resulting in top-20 finishes.

With his extensive Major Championship experience and success under his belt, Bradley should be a contender at the minimum this week. That said, what could push Bradley over the top is that he enters this tournament as one of the hottest golfers in the world. Bradley has made the cut in seven of his last eight tournaments, with four top-10 finishes.

Corey Conners Top 40 Finish (+140)

The other golfer we are backing this week to finish inside the top-40 is Corey Conners. On TOUR this season, Conners ranks 19th in SG Tee to Green 30th in SG Approach the Green.

Additionally, Conners has made the cut in four of his last seven major championships, with all four of those made-cuts resulting in top-15 finishes. His most recent high-placed major finish was at this year’s Masters Tournament, where Conners finished T6.

At last year’s Open Championship, Conners finished T15. On top of that strong major championship experience, Conners enters this week in outstanding form as he has made the cut in seven of his last nine tournaments.

Of those seven made-cuts, Conners has four top-15 finishes. Entering this tournament in good form, a strong season with his iron play, and a solid foundation of major championship experience, Conners should be able to be competitive over the weekend.

Best of luck!
