Uruguay's a sizable favorite coming into this third-place match, and I have to agree with the oddsmakers. I think The Sky Blue are several steps ahead of Canada, and I'm going to lay the 1.0 goal with Uruguay.
Mostly, I'm concerned with how Canada's offense matches up with Uruguay. Offense has been tough to come by for Jesse Marsch's bunch, as they've scored just two goals during their five matches at Copa America. They've been held to a sub-1.0 xG mark (expected goals) in their last three matches. Furthermore, the Canucks will likely be without captain Alphonso Davies who came off in the semi-final with an ankle injury.
On the flip side, Uruguay has looked very polished in this tournament. In my opinion, they're easily in the upper echelon of teams competing in Copa America, sitting in a tier with Argentina and Columbia. Uruguay cruised through the group stage, going 3-0-0 with a +8 goal differential (9:1). They also shut out an always-dangerous Brazil team while barely losing 1-0 to Columbia in the semi-final.
Ultimately, this one comes down to Canada's inability to score goals. They're running into another defensively-sound team on Saturday night and I don't expect their offensive woes to subside here. Uruguay has plenty of offensive talent up front to secure a multi-goal lead, so let's ride with them -1.0.
