2025 Belmont Stakes Hill Road Odds, Picks & Predictions
With the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in the rearview mirror, it’s time for the 2025 Belmont Stakes. The final jewel of the triple crown, the Test of the Champion is typically the longest of the three races at a full 1.5 miles. However, the 2025 version of the Belmont Stakes will run at the historic Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., rather than Belmont Park, for the second year in a row, as renovations continue at the race's usual home. That means the distance is being shortened from 1.5 miles to 1.25 miles due to the difference in track circumference. Below, we take a look at the current Belmont Stakes odds, post position, and expert advice for Hill Road.

Hill Road could surprise a lot of bettors on Saturday, and he’s worth a look when putting together exotics. While many will be focused on the top-three finishers from the Kentucky Derby, there’s always a chance that a few of them tire late in this long race, especially if they battle early. That’s when we could see Hill Road capitalize and sneak into second or third.
This is a horse that just won the Peter Pan on May 10, and in his two races before that, he finished third at the Tampa Bay Derby and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The distance could be a huge problem for Hill Road, as he’s never run longer than 1 1/8 miles.
However, most horses struggle with the distance of the Belmont, and I expect the experience of trainer Chad Brown and jocked Irad Ortiz Jr. to shine through late.
