With the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in the rearview mirror, it’s time for the 2025 Belmont Stakes. The final jewel of the triple crown, the Test of the Champion is typically the longest of the three races at a full 1.5 miles. However, the 2025 version of the Belmont Stakes will run at the historic Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., rather than Belmont Park, for the second year in a row, as renovations continue at the race's usual home. That means the distance is being shortened from 1.5 miles to 1.25 miles due to the difference in track circumference. Sovereignty Belmont Stakes Predictions

Sovereignty took the Preakness off, so there’s a chance that bettors may forget just how impressive the horse’s run in the Kentucky Derby was. He won the Run for the Roses on a sloppy track, holding off a late surge from eventual Preakness winner, Journalism.
Sovereignty has very short odds to win, but is actually the second-favorite behind Journalism, despite beating him in early May. Maybe oddsmakers think that Journalism has the advantage over the longer distance on a fast track, but I’m not betting against Sovereignty, who will be very fresh after a month without racing.
Take Sovereignty to win, and throw him in plenty of exotics, too.
