9 MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Minnesota Twins

  • Jorge Polanco 2+ Total Bases (+100)
  • Carlos Correa 2+ Total Bases (+105)
  • Kolten Wong 2+ Total Bases (+120)

I’m expecting plenty of runs in tonight’s game between the Brewers and Twins. Therefore, we should see a ton of hits and many extra-base hits tonight.

Josh Winder will get the start for the Twins. In the last 30 days, Winder has a 6.89 xFIP and has struggled to earn a high strikeout rate.

In the middle of the Brewers’ lineup, he’ll face Kolten Wong, who has a .235 ISO and wOBA of .375 against righties in the last 30 days. Wong has hit 33.3% of line drives when he puts the ball in play against righties in the last 30 days. He should do damage.

Meanwhile, it’ll be Jason Alexander on the mound for the Brewers. He has a 5.50 xFIP with low strikeouts and high walks in the last 30 days. Alexander has also given up 31.1% of line drives when balls are batted into play in the last 30 days.

He’s going to take on an extremely difficult lineup that includes Carlos Correa and Jorge Polanco. Correa has a .225 ISO and wOBA of .371 against righties in the last 30 days while Polanco has a .342 ISO and wOBA of .370 against righties in the last 30 days.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago Cubs

  • Adrian Sampson Over 3.5 K’s (-156)
  • Seiya Suzuki 2+ Total Bases (+110)
  • Adley Rutschman 2+ Total Bases (+125)

I don’t think we’ll see a ton of runs in tonight’s game between the Cubs and Orioles. But I’m liking some matchups in this one.

Adrian Sampson will take the hill for the Cubs. In the last 30 days, Sampson has been impressive, holding a 4.04 xFIP. He’s struck out 23.8% of batters faced in those last 30 days and has walked just 3.8% of batters faced. With the Orioles striking out 23.7% of the time, Sampson should be able to get four strikeouts in this one.

There aren’t many threats in the Orioles’ lineup but Adley Ruschman is the one that stands out. He has a .338 ISO and wOBA of .428 against righties in the last 30 days with just 11.1% of plate appearances resulting in a strikeout.

On the other hand, Jordan Lyles will get the start for the Orioles. He’s limited weighted on-base averages recently but still has a 5.20 xFIP in the last 30 days. Again, the Cubs aren’t standing out offensively for their power except for Seiyz Suzuki, who has a .400 ISO and wOBA of .428 against righties since returning from the injured list.

I’ll take my chances with him to get two bases.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants

  • Wilmer Flores 2+ Total Bases (+105)
  • Austin Slater 1+ Hit (-210)
  • Darin Ruf 2+ Total Bases (+125)

I’m going to be fading Dallas Keuchel tonight. Keuchel will take the mound for the Diamondbacks while giving up 45.3% of hard contact in the last 30 days.

On top of that, the left-hander has allowed 30.2% of line-drive contact when the ball is put into play. The Giants have struck out a whole lot against lefties, but Keuchel is not a strikeout thrower.

Therefore, if the Giants can put the ball in play, much better things will happen. Tonight I’ll count on Austin Slater, Wilmer Flores, and Darin Ruf to lead the Giants to victory.

Slater has a .189 ISO and wOBA of .449 against lefties in his last 44 plate appearances. Meanwhile, Ruf has a .206 ISO and wOBA of .392 against lefties in the last 30 days. And lastly, Flores has a .233 ISO and wOBA of .374 against lefties in the last 30 days.

What are Player Props?
Player props refer to wagers that bettors can make based on player performance in a specific game. The majority of player props are built around the most common statistical benchmarks for a specific sport such as yards and touchdowns in football. Most player props are straight over/under plays that open at or near -110 and are adjusted based on where the money lands. Examples of baseball player prop bets include over/under 4.5 strikeouts for a starting pitcher or over/under 1.5 total bases for a hitter.
