Jordan Spieth British Open History
Even dating back to the last six outings for Spieth at The Open, he has played nothing short of masterful golf in this tournament. The 2017 champion is poised for another great weekend result. The Open was last hosted at St. Andrews in 2015, and Spieth scored an extremely impressive 14-under par and tied for fourth place that time around. All signs point towards a successful round for the American, and the lines posted by sportsbooks agree with this.
Jordan Spieth‘s Recent Form
While his history at The Open is stellar, he is looking for some answers right now. If you stretch back to after the Masters, there are three top-10 finishes for him and a win at the RBC Heritage Classic, followed by a second-place finish at AT&T Byron Nelson. He seems to come in waves, and this is the time that the upswing seems like it would logically come. He hasn’t played his best golf of late, but I am confident he will bring it back around. After all, his lone win this year came after missing the cut at the Masters.
Jordan Spieth British Open Prediction
With the inconsistencies in his results, even with a consistent plan of attack and skill set, it is hard to try and play exotic markets on him, but I think he is a lock to make the cut. It is worth placing money on Spieth as the outright winner or a top-5 finish because it can happen this weekend. Top-10 or 20 are doable, sure, but with Spieth, you want to chase the upside, as he generally is a high-risk, high-reward kind of wager. With that said, my play here is sprinkling on Jordan Spieth outright winner at +1600.
