Tuesday's Best College Football Picks (Week 10)

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Ohio Bobcats at Akron Zips

The Ohio Bobcats have been cruising through the MAC this season. Most recently, the Bobcats beat Eastern Michigan 24-20 at home to extend their winning streak to five.

Tonight, they’ll face an Akron squad that hasn’t won a conference game. They sit 0-4 in conference play and 1-7 overall. They’ve scored just 152 points all season. In conference play, the Zips have scored only 74 points while allowing 135.

This game is a major mismatch. That said, Akron has played three road games to begin conference play. The one home game was a 25-23 loss to Eastern Michigan. Akron should ultimately compete in this game. The Zips still average over 215 passing yards per game and 5.4 yards per play. The run defense is also the team’s best unit. If they can keep Ohio from getting big runs, things might turn in their favor.

I’ll take Akron +14.

Pick: Akron +14 (-108)

Buffalo Bulls at Miami (OH) RedHawks

While that first game seems like a major mismatch, this game should be a bit closer on paper. Both teams are currently 5-3 and 3-1 in conference play.

Buffalo has won three straight games, but three of their last four wins have come by one score. Miami (OH) squeezed by Central Michigan by a point last time out, and three of their last four wins have also been by one score.

Buffalo doesn’t have much of a passing game behind Jason Wright, but the team has added over 175 yards rushing per game this season. Miami (OH) has allowed only 95.1 rushing yards per game this year. That could become a problem for Buffalo.

Meanwhile, Miami (OH) is more balanced. The offense has averaged 6.4 yards per play and 27 points per game. They’ve struggled on third down, converting only 36.3% of them. If Buffalo can get off the field on many of these third downs, this game should be a low-scoring affair.

Give me the under.

Pick: Under 44.5 Points (-110)
