College Football Week 1 Player Props & Bets (2025)
After a five-game college football slate in Week 0 whet our appetites, the Week 1 slate gets back to normalcy with a full slate of games, which span through Monday of Labor Day Weekend.
I started the season with a profitable 2-1 result last week, but I will die on the sword that my Dylan Edwards prop should have been voided since he was injured on a muffed punt on his first touch and did not return to the game.

Let’s dive into our top college football Week 1 player props for this weekend’s slate of games.
James Peoples Under 52.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
James Peoples has two things working against him for a big season opener against the No. 1 team in the country. One is that I expect CJ Donaldson, a transfer from West Virginia, to eat into his carries, even though he has a slightly lower line of 42.5 rushing yards.
The other is that the Longhorns had the country's No. 3 total defense last year. Among that unit's 62% returning production, the strength is in their linebacking corps. Anthony Hill Jr., in particular, ranked No. 2 on ESPN's top 100 players list after finishing fourth among FBS linebackers in tackles for loss last year.
With Texas likely to stack the box to challenge new Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin (84 career passing yards) to beat it, these odds at this number are a great value.
LaNorris Sellers Over 222.5 Passing Yards (-114)
South Carolina won its final six games of the regular season last year, beating three ranked teams in the process. It quickly realized that keeping the ball in its best playmaker's hands, quarterback LaNorris Sellers, makes it a successful offensive team.
Sellers threw for 238+ yards in four of those final six regular-season games. In the one he finished with fewer than 200 passing yards in that span, the team did not need to air it out much in a convincing 26-point win over Oklahoma.
There are more question marks in Virginia Tech's secondary than there are in its defensive line, which boasts five transfers with five or more tackles for loss last year. Expect Sellers to air it out early and often.
Sawyer Robertson Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-154)
Sawyer Robertson threw for 3,071 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, and had multiple touchdown passes nine times over the final 10 games.
Robertson is protected by four returning offensive line starters. He also gets back leading receivers Josh Cameron and Ashtyn Hawkins, who combined for 1,321 yards and 15 touchdowns last year.
Baylor returns its top two running backs, who combined for 18 touchdowns, and should warrant touches in the red zone. I am hoping the threat of the running game will open up things through the air for the Baylor signal-caller.
