Saturday's Best College Football Player Prop Bets & Picks
Let’s dive into our top college football Week 7 player prop bet picks on Saturday’s slate of games.
(College football player prop bet odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook unless otherwise noted)
Cade Klubnik (Clemson) Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (-106)
Clemson has scored 48+ points in three of its last five meetings with Wake Forest. With a total of 61.5 points and facing a Wake Forest offense that ranks in the top 60 in scoring, there should be pressure on the Tigers to put up points offensively.
Clemson has developed into more of a passing offense this year. Its 167 pass attempts compared to 160 rushing attempts only seem balanced because of game script and it taking its foot off the gas in many contests.
The Demon Deacons allow 291.4 passing yards per game (126th) and have allowed three passing touchdowns in two of the previous four weeks (they allowed two passing touchdowns in each of the other two weeks). I would not play this number if I was not getting generous odds less than the standard -110 juice. This line is much more enticing than steep odds to back the ver on a line of 1.5 passing touchdowns.
Cade Klubnik has surpassed this total in three of the last four weeks. As one of the hottest quarterbacks in the country with a 14:1 TD:INT ratio over the last four games, it is a no-brainer to take advantage of this 51.46% implied probability.
Elic Ayomanor (Stanford) to Record 42+ Receiving Yards (-114)
As of this writing, there was no traditional O/U line for Ayomanor’s receiving yards at FanDuel Sportsbook, so I had to head to DraftKings Sportsbook for this wager.
NFL scouts are likely drooling over this matchup of potential future first-round NFL draft picks as Stanford wide receiver Elic Ayomanor will line up across from Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison often. Morrison had nine interceptions and 17 pass breakups over his first two seasons and already has four pass breakups so far this year.
Ayomanor is coming off a 62-catch, 1,013-receiving yard season last year. His highlight was a school-record 294-yard performance against Colorado where he proved he is immune to elite cornerback matchups, as he totaled seven of his 13 catches and two of his three touchdowns when being defended by Colorado's Travis Hunter.
Ayomanor had seven catches for 58 yards against Notre Dame last year. There is nothing to suggest he cannot repeat that performance, especially since he averages 4.8 receptions and 63.4 yards per game this year, both good for top-100 marks among FBS receivers.
Will Howard (Ohio State) Longest Completion Under 42.5 Yards (-115)
This is my most confident play of the day and I am headed to bet365 to take advantage of this unique market.
This wager is a heavy contrarian play, as Will Howard has completed at least one 43-yard pass in four of five games to this point, including a 53-yard completion against the most stingy pass defense he has faced in Iowa last week.
Howard has arguably the best duo of receivers to throw to in the country in Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka. However, his Pro Football Focus (PFF) passing grade of 75.2 is still underwhelming, and they have him on record for as many turnover-worthy plays as big-time throws (five).
Howard and the Buckeyes face an elite Ducks secondary that ranks in the top three in coverage grade, per PFF, and in the top 10 nationally in expected points added/pass allowed. Oregon has allowed just one reception of more than 43 yards this year. The following were its longest pass completion allowed in the first four games of the season: 23, 18, 21, 36.
