Matthew Freedman’s Favorite Sweet 16 March Madness Player Props (Friday)

I don’t want to brag, but I’ve been at BettingPros less than a month, and I’ve already created enough content to fill 59 articles. Now 60.

I wouldn’t call myself a content colossus — I’m no WordPress hero — but if other people described me that way I would understand why.

On the topic of “Not bragging”: I’m 173-155 (+1.9 units) on March Madness player props through Rounds 1-2. Ugh. I’ve had better.

I’m honestly disappointed with my performance so far — but at least I haven’t lost money, and given that I know almost nothing about college basketball I suppose not going broke is a strong outcome.

Despite my ignorance of the sport, I’ve created crude player projections for the past two March Madnesses and used them to make bets in the prop market.

I’ve had success.

  • In 2019, I went 125-69-12 (+39.8 units) on March Madness player props.
  • In 2021, I went 105-64-1 (+33.8 units) on March Madness player props.

Let’s see if I can do better for the Sweet 16.

Based on the offering in our NCAA basketball player props page as of writing (9 a.m. ET), here are some props I like for today’s (Friday’s) four games. For all bets with negative odds, I wager to win a unit. For all bets with positive odds, I wager a unit.
