Tampa Bay Rays vs. Detroit Tigers

Tyler Glasnow will get the start for the Rays tonight. Glasnow has averaged about 94 pitches per start in the last month and has held teams to a .103 ISO and wOBA of .214. The right-hander is known for his strikeouts. He’s earned 32.3% of strikeouts over the last month. However, he’s also induced 61% of ground balls and has limited walks, fly balls, and line drives in the previous 30 days.

He’ll face a Tigers lineup that has hit a .130 ISO and wOBA of .259 over the last month against righties. Detroit’s lineup only has three batters hitting an above-average ISO and wOBA. That leaves six batters that are struggling against righties. As a lineup, the Tigers have also struck out over 25% of the time. It won’t get any easier against Glasnow.

On the other hand, Matt Manning is slated for a start with Detroit. Manning won’t get a ton of strikeouts. But he held a .294 wOBA against his last 101 batters last month. He’ll face a Tampa Bay lineup with just three batters hitting a wOBA of above .313 against righties in the previous 30 days.

Manning has limited walks to 5.9% in that time and has kept line drives below 24%.

Manning won’t go as deep for the Tigers. But a solid five innings should help set the tone for the rest of the game. Let’s take the Under in this game.

Bet: Under 8 (-105)

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Minnesota Twins

I’m not buying the Dallas Keuchel hype. He was dominant in Triple-A and has earned a rotation spot with the Twins. But he’s facing a potential NL Cy Young candidate in Zac Gallen.

Keuchel struck out under 15% of batters last season and allowed a .223 ISO and wOBA of .422 against 302 batters. Keuchel also allowed nearly 27% of line drives the previous season.

Meanwhile, Arizona’s offense has limited strikeouts to 19.2% against lefties. Arizona will put the ball in play and earn big hits against Keuchel.

On the other hand, Gallen has struck out 23.2% of batters in the last month. This season, he’s limited teams to a .143 ISO and wOBA of .287.

The Twins certainly have the more productive offense. But it’s going to be tough against Gallen.

Going off the pitching matchup, I’ll ride the Diamondbacks on the road. There’s no way I’m backing Keuchel after everything he’s done over the last couple of years in the MLB.

Bet: Diamondbacks (-156)
