The early August rust was real, as a 1-2 Saturday has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth this morning. While we nailed the Syndergaard prop over, Tim Anderson managed to collect a double prior to getting knocked out by Jose Ramirez in the Guardians/White Sox affair yesterday. Miguel Rojas of the Dodgers also went 0-for-3 on Saturday, but did not strike out in the contest. The Dodgers struck out 10 times as a whole, yet only Rojas and Will Smith were the only ones not to go down swinging. Close misses are the worst kind of misses. Let's hope the luck can bounce back in our favor on Sunday.
Overall record: 29-28-3

Sunday’s Best PrizePicks Player Predictions
Sandy Alcantara Under 18.5 Pitching Outs
Sandy Alcantara is in the midst of quite a different season from just one year ago when he took down the NL Cy Young award. This season, he is just 4-9 with a 4.21 ERA through 22 starts. He started off extremely slow, holding a 4.82 ERA prior to the month of July. He has certainly been better over the past 30 days, which includes his previous two outings in which he threw a complete game against the Rays and lasted eight innings against the Phillies, respectively.

Sandy Alcantara Under 18.5 Pitching Outs

That said, he has not faced a team like the Rangers this season, better known as the number-one-ranked team in scoring in the MLB. Texas is averaging 5.78 runs per game and 7.75 over their last four. They arguably have the most potent lineup in all of baseball, top to bottom.
Alcantara has showcased that his stuff is much more hittable in 2023 than it was in 2022, and the Rangers will be looking to take advantage early and often on Sunday. Texas is 6-4 over their last 10 games, and they are looking to hold onto the AL West lead as they currently sit 2.5 games ahead of the Astros. If Alcantara is hit hard early on Sunday, he will have trouble making it into the sixth inning in this one.
The Dodgers' right fielder has been tearing the cover off of the ball since the calendar flipped to August, as Mookie Betts is currently sitting with a .450 average over the past five games. This includes multi-hit performances in four of those showings. Betts is also currently riding a 12-game hitting streak, in which he has collected eight extra-base hits.
On Sunday, the Dodgers will be squaring off against the Padres and 43-year-old Rich Hill, a man that should be no match for Betts and company. Hill has a 4.76 ERA on the campaign, and he is, on average, allowing over a hit per inning pitched and nearly three runs per appearance. In the month of July, Hill's ERA spiked to 5.70, and he made it into the sixth inning in just one out of his six outings.
Mookie Betts is a true professional hitter, and the aging Hill will be no match for him on Sunday night. This line could debatably be too low, given Betts' hot bat at the moment. Look for him to continue his hot streak on Sunday night.
Shohei Ohtani Over 9.0 Hitter Fantasy Score
What better pick could there be than a Shohei Ohtani prop line to get us back on track in the betting world? The greatest player in baseball, Ohtani has a fantastic matchup on Sunday night to propel him over this attainable line. The first player to eclipse the 40-home run mark in 2023, Shotime has a great opportunity to add to that total this evening.
Bryce Miller will be starting for the Mariners on Sunday, and he has come crashing back down to earth following a strong kickoff to his rookie campaign. His ERA has inflated all the way up to 4.35, and he has been allowing a plethora of hits and homers over a number of his last starts. It is actually unfair to Miller that he will have to face a hitter like Shohei Ohtani as a rookie arm. Ohtani is as good as it gets, and he should cakewalk across this line as he sends a true "welcome to the show" message to Miller.
