Usage and playing time obviously will do wonders for any player. However, that's not what we mean. Many of the players in this tournament have shown they just needed an opportunity to show how talented they are. It's been an absolute joy to watch.

Hu is showing exceptional efficiency from beyond the arc, knocking down 6-of-11 attempts from three-point range. Xu has scored 18+ points in two consecutive games and has a favorable matchup to do so again versus Puerto Rico.

Australia vs. Italy
Australia's two most skilled players on the offensive side of the ball are out with injuries (Alanna Smith & Sami Whitcomb), but the team continues to find ways to win. Italy is coming off a 20-point blowout loss to China.
The Italian team seemed deflated in that contest. The team that faced China performed far worse than the team that barely missed the opportunity to give Team USA their first loss in years. Australia is also coming off a tough defeat. Yet they ran into powerhouse Belgium, which will be a problem for any team.
Italy relies on grinding out games, due to their lack of scoring ability. The Italian team has not scored more than 63 points in any contest and has gone 9-of-56 from three-point range. Italy is heavily outmatched offensively in this contest. Australia will get their shots up and are the more efficient team.
Australia is averaging 75 points through three games, and shooting 48% from the field on over 63 attempts. Italy just allowed their opponent to make almost 51% of their field-goal attempts and 42% of their shots from beyond the arc. If Australia shoots at that level of efficiency while getting to the line, they will move on to the next phase of the tournament.
