Vanderbilt Commodores (+330) at No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats (-430) | O/U 51.5 (-115/-105)
- Leg 1: Kentucky -10.5 (-115)
- Leg 2: Over 51.5 Points (-115)
- Leg 3: Kenny Minchey 250+ Passing Yards (+116)
Vanderbilt (3-4, 0-4 SEC) hits the road to battle Kentucky (6-1, 4-1), as the hunter has become the hunted. Kentucky, already bowl eligible, has scored big wins at Texas A&M and home against LSU on Oct. 10. It also went to Oklahoma and won 21-13 last Saturday. The Wildcats have covered five in a row, while going 6-1 against the spread (ATS). The Over is 5-1 in the past six games for the Wildcats, too, going for 31+ points in four of the previous five outings.
The Commodores have dropped four in a row since that wild fumble recovery in the end zone against NC State, stealing a win from the Wolfpack on Sept. 19. Vandy scored 28+ in each of the first three games, but it has managed 21 or fewer points in four in a row, averaging 16.7 points per game (PPG) in the process. The defense has struggled tremendously, giving up 26+ points in five of the past six outings, too.
It’s a different spot than Kentucky is used to. It has been fighting to prove itself, but now the Wildcats are finally getting some respect. Let’s back Kentucky to roll against Vanderbilt, as the Wildcats are for real. We’ll go Over on the total, too, as Kentucky should be able to roll up big points. We’ll take Kentucky QB Kenny Minchey to get to 250+ Passing Yards, too, as our lone prop play.
Parlay Odds: +401
Syracuse Orange (+280) at North Carolina Tar Heels (-360) | O/U 47.5 (-120/-102)
- Leg 1: Syracuse +9.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Over 47.5 Points (-120)
- Leg 3: Umari Hatcher 100+ Receiving Yards (+124)
Syracuse (2-4, 0-4 ACC) meets North Carolina (4-2, 2-1) at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, and the Tar Heels look for a third consecutive victory, as they try and move closer to bowl eligibility.
The Orange have had a ton of injury issues under center, with QBs Amari Odom and Malachi Nelson both requiring surgeries which will end their seasons. The team will go back to former QB Steve Angeli for Saturday’s start.
For UNC, it has a pair of four-point wins at Pitt and at Duke in the past two weekend, and the Tar Heels are a perfect 3-0 ATS in the past three games. Defense has been a major reason for the turnaround, giving up just 18.5 PPG in the past two games.
While the Tar Heels have been covering lately, and the Orange are banged up, Syracuse has a very explosive WR Umari Hatcher. The senior has 126 or more receiving yards and eight or more catches in each of the past three games, totaling five touchdowns (at least one in each game). UNC doesn’t have a player of his caliber. I don’t necessarily like Syracuse to win, but the Orange should be able to keep it close. And, we’ll go Over, as this could be a surprisingly high-scoring affair. In addition, we’ll take the Orange receiver Umari Hatcher to record his fourth straight 100-yard receiving game.
Parlay Odds: +416
No. 14 Houston Cougars (+210) at No. 10 Utah Utes (-260) | O/U 57.5 (-106/-114)
- Leg 1: Utah -6.5 (-122)
- Leg 2: Over 57.5 Points (-106)
- Leg 3: Conner Weigman Anytime TD Scorer (+105)
Houston (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) travel to Rice-Eccles Stadium to battle Utah (6-0, 3-0) in a marquee battle in the late window.
The Cougars edged Oklahoma State 35-32 last time out, and they’ve won four in a row since a 28-26 loss at Texas Tech on Sept. 18. However, Houston is 1-3 ATS in the past four outings, while the Over is 5-2 in seven games this season.
For Utah, it hasn’t skipped a beat with head coach Morgan Scalley taking over for the departed Kyle Whittingham. Utah’s offense is good for 27+ points in all 6 games, and it is 5-1 ATS this season, while cashing the Over in the past three outings. In SLC, the Utes are 4-0 SU/ATS, going for 41+ in three of four outings, too.
The Utes are good for 486.5 total yards per game, ranking 11th in the nation, while going for 220.2 rushing yards per game (17th), and 40.2 PPG (10th). On defense, they’ve allowed just 88.7 rushing yards per game (12th) and 14.8 PPG (12th). That’s a good recipe for a lot of wins.
We’ll take Utah to not only get the win, but to grab the cover, and we’ll go high on the total, as Houston has 485.1 total yards per game (12th), with 220.3 rushing yards (16th) and 39.3 PPG (16th). However, for the player prop, we’re going to look to Houston QB Conner Weigman as an Anytime TD scorer.
Parlay Odds: +542
