NFL Week 1 BettingPros Game Projections & Best Bets
This year I’m working with a team of analysts to create official BettingPros projections for every NFL game’s spread and total.
I have my own personal projections, which do factor into our overall site projections. You can see all of my game projections in my Week 1 best bets piece — but if I had to choose between using my own projections or our official projections to guide my betting decisions … I’d probably defer to the BettingPros spreads and totals.
As much as I like to flatter myself by thinking that I’m not an unintelligent individual, I know that there’s a large benefit to leveraging the wisdom of the crowd — especially if that crowd is sharp — and the analysts contributing to our projections process are knowledgeable about both NFL and sports betting.

I should also mention that Thor Nystrom is similarly projecting spreads and totals for every college football game. What takes seven people to do for NFL, Thor can do all by himself.

Right now — Thursday at 10 am ET — there are five spreads and five totals in our official projections that deviate from the market by more than a point and highlight bettable opportunities.
