Tuesday’s Best NBA Bets

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic have a sneaky good defense. The Magic have held teams to 112.7 points per 100 possessions and have limited teams to 25.7% of offensive rebounds. The Magic have even added 15.6% of turnovers, which is second-best in the NBA.

Orlando still allows a 54.9% effective field goal percentage and fouls at a higher rate than the average. That’s where the Thunder can have success. Oklahoma City won’t dominate on the offensive glass. But it’s still unlikely the Magic add a high rate of turnovers against the Thunder. Oklahoma City also shoots a 57.7% effective field goal percentage, which ranks second.

On the other hand, the Magic will, again, win the rebounding battle on the offensive glass. They’ll also get to the foul line at a solid rate. But Orlando turns the ball over at a high rate of 14.7% and has shot a 53.6% effective field goal percentage. Although the Magic are second in the NBA in turnover percentage defense, the Thunder are first. They’ll earn more turnovers and win that battle.

Oklahoma City has also held teams to a 53% effective field goal percentage. Therefore, I’m rolling with the Thunder on the road.

Bet: Thunder -3.5 (-105)

Sacramento Kings vs. Phoenix Suns

The Sacramento offense hasn’t produced as well as some expected this season. The Kings have scored 117.7 points per 100 possessions, which is only 14th in the NBA.

The Kings have been below average in turnover percentage, offensive rebounding percentage, and the free throw rate on offense. Meanwhile, the Suns have held teams to an 18.7 free throw rate and have watched teams shoot a 54.2% effective field goal percentage against them. That’s 9th in the NBA defensively for the Suns.

The Kings don’t really stand out offensively in their matchup against Phoenix. But on the other hand, the Suns absolutely stick out. Phoenix has shot an effective field goal percentage of 57.2%, while the Kings have allowed a 57% effective field goal percentage. Furthermore, the Suns have a 24 free throw rate, while the Kings allow a 21.6 free throw rate, which is 26th in the NBA defensively.

The Kings are good on the defensive glass. They’re also good at earning takeaways. However, the Suns should shoot a higher percentage from the field and add more foul shots at home. Let’s roll with the Suns at -5.5 for tonight’s TNT matchup.

Bet: Suns -5.5 (+100)
