UFC on ABC Odds, Preview & Betting Guide: Michelle Waterson vs. Amanda Lemos (2022)

The UFC returns to ABC this weekend, as the UBS Arena in Belmont, NY will play host to a great afternoon of fights. With the prelims card starting at 11 AM EST and the main card starting at 2 PM EST, a pair of women strawweights in Michelle Waterson and Amanda Lemos will serve as the co-main event.

Let’s take a closer look at both fighters and how things might shake out on Long Island.

Betting Profile: Michelle Waterson (18-9-0)

Last Five Fights (L-W-L-L-W)

Waterson will enter the octagon on Saturday in desperate need of a win, as she’s now lost three of her last four fights. The last time we saw her inside the octagon was a flyweight bout, a five-round affair with Marina Rodriguez in which she got picked apart.

One edge Waterson will have in this fight is submissions, as she’s submitting .78 opponents per 15 minutes inside the octagon.

Betting Profile: Amanda Lemos (11-2-1)

Last Five Fights (L-W-W-W-W)

A former Jungle Fight women’s bantamweight champion, Lemos joined the UFC in 2017, falling to Leslie Smith (TKO) in the first fight. Since then, however, Lemos has proven her worth, winning five of her next six fights. Her sole loss came the last time we saw her in the octagon, a first-round defeat from Jessica Andrade, a solidified top-10 fighter.

Coming into this fight, Lemos holds edges in both striking volume and accuracy, with a 5.14 (vs. 3.57) and 61.1% (vs. 32.7%) clip, respectively. She also holds a 25%+ in takedown accuracy at 57%.

Bottom Line

Over these two’s last 10 combined fights, seven have gone the distance, with Waterson entering the octagon with no wins inside the distance since 2016. At 36 years old, the veteran fighter doesn’t have many chances left to remain in the promotion, and I think we see her put up a valiant effort for what could be her last co-main event.

Unfortunately for her, Lemos had been on the best run of her career prior to her recent loss, and I think we see her get the decision in this spot.
