WNBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (8/6)
The WNBA has four-afternoon games, all playing at the same time. While I can’t explain the WNBA schedule, I can explain some of my best bets for today’s slate.
Let’s get right to it!
Today’s Best WNBA Bets

Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty
This is the lone matchup on national television. And it’s for good reason. The Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty are the two best teams in the WNBA.
The Aces are 24-2, and the Liberty are 21-6 this season.
Las Vegas destroyed New York in its first meeting, 98-81. But that’s when Vegas was home. The Liberty will try to make a statement in their home today.
New York has won eight of their last ten games. The Liberty is coming off two wins against the Sparks. However, both wins were by single digits against a lower-tier team.
On the other hand, the Aces just dominated the Atlanta Dream, 93-72. They’ve scored at least 93 points in their last four games and continue to win by double-figures.
The Aces have averaged over 94 points per game, while the Liberty have added 87.7 points. I’d be surprised if one team didn’t reach at least 90 points tonight. Let’s grab the Over in this matchup.
Bet: Over (-110)
Chicago Sky vs. Dallas Wings
At 4:00 pm ET, the Chicago Sky will face the Dallas Wings on ESPN3. This will be the third and final meeting between the Sky and Wings. Although the Sky have won both games against the Wings, the Wings have more wins on the season and will be home for today’s game.
The Sky defeated the Wings, 94-88, on their home floor and dominated them on the road, 104-89. However, Chicago has only won two of its last five games and is 4-6 in the previous ten matchups. Meanwhile, the Wings have won three of their last four games and are 7-3 in their previous ten games.
But for whatever reason, the Sky continue to shoot at a very high pace against the Wings. The Sky shot 55.1% on the road and 45.3% at home against the Wings this season. The Sky isn’t getting significant contributions from the bench, but Courtney Williams and Kahleah Cooper each added 25 points against the Wings in their last matchup.
Meanwhile, the Wings don’t have much depth on the bench. The offense has three legitimate weapons, with Arike Ogunbowale, Natasha Howard, and Satou Sabally being the only reliable scorers. Howard is a walking triple-double, and Ogunbowale is one of the best scorers in the league. But Ogunbowale only went 4-for-16 against the Sky in their last meeting. In an earlier meeting, she went 9-for-25. She hasn’t been super efficient against the Sky.
Give me the Sky.
Bet: Sky (-110)
