WNBA Player Props & Bets: Tuesday (7/14)

The WNBA is giving us another two-game schedule, with the Portland Fire taking on the Connecticut Sun early, followed by the Washington Mystics visiting the Toronto Tempo in the evening. In both games, there is a ton of potential for WNBA Player Props.

There are lots of great markets in both games, but the following are my favorites:

Portland Fire vs. Connecticut Sun

Emily Engstler Over 8.5 Points (-122)

Of all the players on both teams, Engstler may be the most consistent of the bunch. Of course, it helps that her total is relatively low at 8.5 points. But it is a mark she has gone over in her last three games and in seven of her last nine.

She had 15 in one early-season game against the Sun but only four in the other. Connecticut's defense has been solid in recent games, but it will be focused on Megan Gustafson and Carla Leite. As long as she takes 8+ shots, she'll go over this total.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa Over 18.5 Pts + Reb (-106)

Nelson-Ododa is averaging only 9.0 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. With her season average numbers nowhere near the over, why should anyone believe she'll go over this mark? Because she has done so in five of her last six games and in eight of her last 11. But the most telling stat is her playing time. In her last six games, she has recorded 24-30 minutes.

Given enough time against a poor defense like Portland's (the league’s worst-rated unit), she'll go over this total.

Washington Mystics vs. Toronto Tempo

Marina Mabrey Under 23.5 Points (-122)

Mabrey has been decimating defenses lately, scoring 30+ points in her last two games and in four of the last seven (including a 53-point night). However, as well as she has been playing, a good defense can clip her wings. She had only 11 points against Golden State, the No. 1-rated defense in the league (93.1 points allowed over the last five games). Washington's defense has been a close second over the last five (96.2).

The Mystics will not hold her to 11 points, but they'll keep her under 23.5 points.

Kiki Iriafen Under 25.5 Pts + Reb (-125)

Iriafen has been playing well in recent games, with 10+ rebounds in five of her last six games and 11-14 points also in five of her last six. However, she hasn't done so well when you combine them. She has gone under this total in six of her last seven games and 11 of her last 15. Toronto's defense is not great, but I don't trust Washington's lackluster offense to take advantage of it.
