Jamal Shead (G – HOU) over 12.5 points

I think we're getting a slight discount here because of how poorly Houston played on Thursday night. Shead has hit this mark in four out of his last five. With the question of Marcus Sasser's groin up in the air, Shead is going to be relied on more heavily to score the ball.

Auburn is near the bottom 20 in college basketball in opponent's free throws attempted per game, so Shead should see some opportunities from the line in this one. He hit this mark against Northern Kentucky while only shooting 40 percent from the field and 25 percent from deep. He's a much more capable shooter than that.

Boo Buie (G – NW) under 17.5 points

Buie has had an absolutely fantastic season for the Wildcats, leading them to their second ever NCAA tournament appearance. Though, there are a couple of reasons why I believe that he will fall short of this total. Primarily, UCLA is a menace defensively, ranking tops in the country in Kenpom's defensive efficiency rating.

The Bruins are a top-10 team in terms of field-goal percentage allowed inside the arc. Buie isn't exactly a sharpshooter from deep, sinking threes at just over 30 percent. He is also a very willing passer, seeing his assist totals balloon to almost five per game this year.

I don't think the opportunities will be there for Buie to go over 17 points. The Wildcats will need to move that ball to find the best shot possible against this vaunted UCLA defense.

Sir'Jabari Rice (G – TEX) over 15 points

This has been one of my absolute favorite player props to play down the stretch, as Rice has been on fire as of late. He's coming off of a performance against Colgate in which he knocked down seven threes, and he has gotten at least 15 points in six of his last eight.

Penn State is middling defensively, not excelling in any one aspect in particular. I expect for there to be plenty of opportunity for Rice to score. He's been a dynamic scorer for the Longhorns whether he's been in the starting lineup or coming off the bench. Look for that to continue today.
