2023 PGA Championship Round 4 Head-to-Head Bets: Dustin Johnson vs. Jordan Spieth

We're onto the final round of the 2023 PGA Championship already! And while it has felt like a quick weekend, it's been far from ideal thanks to Saturday's rain and Thursday's suspension of play. However, we've played 54 holes and it's time for Sunday's finale from Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY.

Below I've narrowed in on my top head-to-head bets for the fourth round.

Dustin Johnson (-120) vs. Jordan Spieth (+105)

It's been a rampant downward trend for Dustin Johnson after he posted a three-under round in Thursday's opener. He currently sits at +5 (T33) after shooting consecutive four-over rounds in the last two days. As for Spieth, he's slowly but surely getting the hang of the East Course and continues to climb up the leaderboard. It was a three-over round for him on Thursday and he's taken a stroke off in each subsequent round, now sitting at +6 overall (T42).

Once again, it's the consistent play that has me backing Spieth with a plus-money payout to beat Johnson. For the latter, I'm having a hard time figuring out why he's even favored in this matchup after two poor rounds of four-over.

The wise play here is to take a shot with Spieth, who has incrementally gotten better as the tournament has gone on. Also, with Johnson winning in a playoff in last week's LIV tournament at Cedar Ridge Country Club, I wouldn't be surprised to see him take another step back on Sunday. He's far out of contention and with that could come a lapse of attention to detail, leading to another bad round.
