The second FedExCup playoff event is set to tee off from Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colorado on Thursday. Located south of Denver, this par 72 course runs over 8,100 yards, making it the longest course ever played on the PGA Tour. No cut line will be enforced as golfers navigate the scenic, lengthy Castle Pines GC.
Elevation will help mitigate a lot of distance but accuracy and putting are big focal points to win the 2024 BMW Championship at this course. The top 50 golfers in the FedExCup rankings advanced from the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee last weekend, vying for a top-30 ranking to advance to the third and final event for the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia to compete for a massive $18 million payday.

Group B
Patrick Cantlay is the betting favorite to win Group B at +280 odds. He’s followed by Viktor Hovland, Ludvig Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood, and Tony Finau. Hovland nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback win at TPC Southwind on Sunday but fell just short on the final two holes. The Norwegian golfer is playing much better and is the defending FedExCup champion, playing well off the tee and on approach. At +300 odds, we should be staking half a unit on Hovland to return 1.5 units of profit by the end of the fourth round on Sunday.

Group C
Denver native Wyndham Clark is the betting favorite to win Group C against Sam Burns, Corey Conners, Sungjae Im, and Cameron Young. Clark’s current form is undoubtedly rock solid, and it helps that he grew up competing on this course and in elevation. However, I’m bullish on Burns, who is fresh off of a T5 finish at TPC Southwind. Burns ranks 38th SG: off-the-tee and 21st SG: putting, which are two great assets to hold at a course like Castle Pines. We’re once again landing 3-1 odds on Burns as the second betting favorite to win Group C, so one more half unit stake is warranted at this price.
