This season has been a strange rollercoaster for the Buccaneers, who have lost four straight games. It seemed like the losing streak would snap last week at Seattle, but the Seahawks completed a comeback 40-34 victory in overtime. Now the Bucs return home, where they are 0-3 on the season, failing to cover in each of those games.

The Cardinals aren’t in the best shape either after losing two straight games. However, they showed plenty of grit in a close 28-25 loss against the undefeated 49ers last Thursday. Now the Cardinals will have a week-and-a-half to make their way east to take on the Buccaneers. The extra time off has allowed David Johnson to heal, and he’ll join the newly-acquired Kenyan Drake in Arizona’s backfield.

Overview

You never know what you are going to get from either of these teams, which makes this matchup a difficult one to handicap. Take note that the 52-point over/under is one of the highest of the week, which makes sense considering both teams rank bottom five in scoring defense. This could be a back-and-forth shootout that comes down to which team makes fewer mistakes.

Trends

  • The Cardinals are 4-1 ATS in their last five games.
  • The Buccaneers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
  • The over is 6-0 in the past six Buccaneers games.

Prop Bets

Christian Kirk OVER 61 Receiving Yards
Kirk is the leading receiver for Arizona, but he’s coming off a dud performance with two receptions for eight yards last week against the 49ers. However, this is an excellent bounce-back spot against one of the most generous pass defenses in the league. Kirk should see double-digit targets in this likely shootout, which would be enough to push him above the 61-yard threshold.

Bottom Line

66% of the BettingPros’ experts are siding with the Cardinals plus the points. I’m in agreement with them, as Arizona has been a strong team on the road this season. They have the rest advantage over Tampa Bay with a little more wind in their sails (pardon the pun).
