The trade deadline is over, and some big names were moved. We feature one of them tonight. Each game features a team that bought in on the season, so we'll see if it pays off. Here’s a look at Blue Jays vs. Guardians.
Thursday's Best MLB Bets: Blue Jays vs. Guardians
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Toronto Blue Jays (-135) at Cleveland Guardians (+114) | O/U 9.5 (-105/-115)
It's been an interesting season for Alek Manoah. He was so bad early in the season that at one point he was sent back to the Blue Jays’ developmental level to try and fix his problems. His first start back was abysmal, but he's settled in carrying s 3.86 ERA and Toronto has won his last three starts.
Noah Syndergaard has had that same problem, but there is no happy ending here. After going 1-5 with a 7.16 ERA with the Dodgers, he was DFA'd and found his way to the Guardians. A great first start from him against Houston, but he was shelled by the White Sox, allowing five earned in the loss.
This isn’t a great pitching matchup, but when comparing these two lineups, Toronto has given a lot of run support to Manoah recently.
Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (+120)
