Fever vs Sun: WNBA Same Game Parlay Picks (Tuesday)

Caitlin Clark

The Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun meet in the WNBA regular-season opener at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game can be streamed on ESPN2, ESPN+ and Disney+.

Caitlin Clark was the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft after a historic college career at the University of Iowa. Her arrival in the WNBA makes her debut perhaps the most highly anticipated in women’s basketball history.

The Indiana Fever went 13-27 last season and secured the No. 1 overall pick. It was a great time to have a terrible campaign, with Clark and a number of other potential generational talents joining the league. The WNBA appears poised for a major step forward in terms of media and fan interest.

In fact, third-party sales have the lowest ticket available at $74, so interest is at an all-time high. Many fans are there to see Clark, but the Connecticut Sun were a pretty good team last season, too. They flamed out in four games against the New York Liberty in the second round of the playoffs, but they swept four regular-season games against the Fever last season. Let’s get started!

We’ll take a look at a plus-money Same-Game Parlay to wager in this Eastern Conference WNBA season debut. Make sure to follow me @danieledobish on Twtter/X to get more free plays and WNBA best bets during the week.

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Sun -6 (-112)

This will be a fun game, but eventually, talent will take over. Look for the Fever to hang with the Sun in the first half, especially with Clark making a big splash, wowing the crowd early on. However, the Sun were a deep team in 2023, and you can expect Connecticut to pull away in the second half.

Connecticut swept four games in the regular season with Indiana. Of course, expectations for the Fever have been altered, and they didn’t have the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer on that roster last season. Even so, Clark can’t do it all on her own, and you can expect the Fever to fizzle out in the final two quarters.

Leg 1: Caitlin Clark Over 25+ Points (+194)

Clark won’t step right into the pros and burn the nets up like she did while starring at the University of Iowa, but she won’t be an ordinary player, either.

This prop is part wishful and part fun. This is a huge debut, and the game will get a ton of eyeballs. Get in on the fun and bet Clark to make a huge splash in her very first game. If she can get to 25 or more points, you can nearly double up if you bet this prop straight up. Do it. Enjoy cheering for Clark to succeed rather than cheering for mixed shots. Be positive. It’s more fun.

Leg 2: Caitlin Clark Over 4+ 3-Pointers (-144)

If Clark is to be successful, going for 25 or more points, the 3-pointer will be a major part of her success. So, if you’re betting on one, you need to be on the other.

Clark was a 3-pointer machine at Iowa. She’ll run into a buzzsaw of a defense, as the Connecticut Sun allowed a WNBA-best 79.0 points per game (PPG) and just a 32.1% 3-point rate. It definitely won’t be easy, but if somebody can make a good defense look bad, it’s Clark. She jacks up crazy shots that look like they’re done in desperation, but she knows exactly what she is doing, and she does it well.

If you bet $100 on the two Clark wagers above, and they all payout on this two-leg parlay, that’s a payout of $225.89. You can’t combine Connecticut -6 with the two player props, but you might find a book you can also include it. Either way, the Clark props are a super attractive SGP play at FanDuel. Good luck!
