Two second-year quarterbacks face off in this Week 1 AFC East matchup for two teams with sky-high fan base expectations. For the Jets, Le’Veon Bell will see his first action for Gang Green, having not played a snap since the 2017 season. Bell’s ability to mesh with Darnold should be the story for this Jets’ team which returns this season with a bolstered defense as well.
Washington Redskins (+8.5, 46 O/U) at Philadelphia Eagles, 1:00 PM EST
Currently one of the largest spreads in Week 1, the Redskins travel to Philly to take on Wentz and the NFC East favorite Eagles. Case Keenum was announced the starter for Washington over the weekend and faces a tough first test against an Eagles team with Super Bowl level talent. The highest total of the three eligible games, scoring is expected early and often in this one.
New York Giants (+7, 45.5 O/U) at Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 PM EST
The beginning of the end of the Eli era gets underway for New York with a divisional matchup against the Cowboys in Week 1. The story heading into this matchup will be the return (or lack thereof) of Cowboys’ running back Ezekiel Elliot. If the Giants stumble early, the calls for Daniel Jones should be deafening.
