Overview
It appears the Jaguars realized they will not get that No. 1 overall draft pick from the Jets. So, they are allowing Gardner Minshew to return as the starting quarterback. He replaced Mike Glennon last game, passing for 178 yards and a touchdown. Minshew brings a spark to this offense that lifts them to be a threat. They will put up some points. However, the Jaguars continue to be out-matched on talent level alone every time they step on the field. This is especially seen in their defense, which allows a league-worst 6.3 yards per play. Most relevant in this matchup is their run defense, which gives up 4.6 yards per carry (tied for fourth-worst in NFL).
The injuries continue to stack up for the Ravens. As of Thursday, Calais Campbell, Marcus Peters, Jimmy Smith, Davontae Harris, Kristian Welch, and Anthony Levine Sr. have not logged any practice reps and are obviously a risk to miss the game Sunday. On top of that, wide receivers Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin, and James Proche have all been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. If they continue to test negative, they will be able to play on Sunday.
Despite this long list of players out of practice, the Ravens are coming off one of the more exciting wins of the season. Baltimore was able to put up 47 points, as the offense looked about as good as it has all season long. Due to all of the COVID difficulties, they have been largely separated, which seemed to really hurt their chemistry. That looked to be repaired on Monday night in that win. Their defense, however, is clearly beaten up, as shown by the list above. Even if Campbell plays, he has not looked like himself over the past couple of games, which has caused the overall run defense to really hurt. With James Robinson on the opposite side of the ball in this game, they cannot let him get going.

The Ravens should be able to jump out to a fast start in this game. What worries me is Gardner Minshew putting up points late in the game to cover the spread. However, for the first half, the Ravens sixth in the NFL for first-half scoring (15.5) while the Jaguars are 26th (9.4). Baltimore is also fourth in first-half defense (9.9), while Jacksonville is 29th (16.1).
Bottom Line
The Jaguar’s defense is worse against the pass than the run, but they still cannot stop the run. Look for Baltimore to have another stat-packing game on offense, as they run the field quickly. As stated above, Gardner Minshew should be able to put up some points, especially given the Ravens’ injuries. It may only take 20 points from them for this game total to hit the over.
