Shohei Ohtani (+164) & Will Smith (+350)

The Dodgers have racked up the most home runs in the National League (185) and travel to the hitter-friendly Coors Field on Monday. Colorado’s Kyle Freeland draws a tough matchup after allowing a homer in 11 of his past 17 outings. Overall, the veteran right-hander has posted a dismal 6.52 ERA and 1.86 WHIP through 10 home starts. Freeland has also been tagged for a 47.1% hard-hit rate, which ranks 330th out of 356 qualified arms.

You can take your pick in a stacked Los Angeles lineup. Two stars stick out to me. Shohei Ohtani has gone deep twice in six at-bats versus Freeland and sports the second-highest barrel rate (22.6%) in all of baseball. Meanwhile, Will Smith is batting .300 with one dinger in 20 at-bats facing Freeland and boasts the second-highest launch angle sweet-spot percentage (41.8%) in the N.L. Trust the visiting squad to put on a show in Denver.

Riley Greene (+370)

Let’s go back to the well for this choice. Detroit’s Riley Greene was featured in this article on Thursday and went on to crush a 392-foot home run to right field in a victory over the Twins. The 24-year-old has tormented right-handed pitching this season, slashing .289/.330/.584 with 26 homers and 68 RBI. Maintaining a career-high 17.7% barrel rate has helped Greene unlock another level of power at the plate.

Not only will Greene battle a righty on Monday, but it will be one that he has gone 2-for-2 with two jacks against. Spencer Arrighetti will toe the slab for the Astros. The Houston hurler has been shaky since returning from a thumb injury, conceding seven earned runs on 12 hits and six walks across two starts (8.2 innings). Expect a rowdy environment to rattle a pitcher with a 5.59 career road ERA. Greene will take advantage of any mistake.

Lenyn Sosa (+560)

The long ball has contributed to Spencer Strider’s struggles in a disappointing 2025 campaign. The fifth-year pro enters Monday with 10 home runs surrendered in his previous seven starts. A fastball that used to dominate opponents is causing just a 15.5% whiff rate and being torched at an average exit velocity of 92.4 miles per hour. That’s a worrisome trend considering it’s the pitch Strider relies on most at 53.9%.

Lenyn Sosa gave the White Sox an early lead with a 492-foot moon shot in the first inning on Sunday. It was the Venezuelan slugger’s team-leading 16th homer of the year and his sixth in the month of August alone. Take note that Sosa has logged a top-25 launch angle sweet-spot percentage (39.9%) among Major Leaguers and registered an impressive 1.018 OPS when ahead in the count. Fade Strider by backing an intriguing dark-horse bat.
