Thursday's Best MLB Home Run Props & Bets
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Bobby Witt Jr. (+440)
Bobby Witt Jr. is doing what he can to keep the Royals in the American League Wild Card race. The All-Star shortstop has logged an impressive .344/.412/.544 slash line with four home runs and four doubles across his last 24 games. Power remains an underrated part of Witt’s skill set. After all, he ranks among the top 12 pros in average exit velocity (93.4 miles per hour) and average homer distance (412 feet).
Up next for Witt is a clash with Cleveland’s Gavin Williams on Thursday. The young right-hander has improved during his third season, but he remains vulnerable to the long ball. Overall, Williams has surrendered a dinger in 18 of his 28 starts and is yielding a .613 slugging percentage on the first pitch of an at-bat. Look for Witt to employ an aggressive approach as he has already tallied nine blasts on the first pitch this year.
Julio Rodriguez (+540)
Let’s jump from one hot hitter to another. Julio Rodriguez has guided Seattle’s offense since the All-Star break, slashing .290/.321/.580 with a team-high 16 home runs and 37 RBI (49 contests). It’s worth pointing out that 23 of Rodriguez’s 30 homers have come when the count is even or in the pitcher’s favor. That is not typical at the MLB level. The Dominican slugger’s composure truly makes him a threat to go yard at any moment.
Los Angeles’ Jose Soriano may seem like an unusual player to target in this market due to his high ground ball rate. However, sometimes a batter just has a pitcher’s number. Rodriguez is 6-for-12 with two jacks facing Soriano. Keep in mind the Angels’ hurler also relies on his sinker most at 49.8%. Rodriguez is batting a stellar .354 against sinkers in 2025. The edge goes to the Mariners outfielder in this divisional matchup.
Hunter Goodman (+350)
Colorado fans have a right to wonder what the squad’s future looks like, but one thing is definite. Hunter Goodman is someone to build around. The 25-year-old has racked up 30 home runs and 87 RBI through 128 games, which are franchise records for a primary catcher. Take note that he has thrived under pressure, too. Goodman sports the second-highest slugging percentage with runners on base in the National League (.617).
Randy Vasquez will be on the mound for the Padres on Thursday night. The Dominican righty checks in outside the top 330 qualified arms in barrel rate (11.6%) and has conceded a homer in 11 of his previous 17 starts. That includes when he threw a sweeper to Goodman that was crushed 419 feet to the left field seats at Coors Field on Saturday. Expect Goodman to quiet the Petco Park crowd with a similar moon shot.
